Questions people ask
Is mefenamic acid good for period pain?
It is commonly used for painful periods because it reduces prostaglandins, which drive cramping. It can also lessen heavy bleeding. If period pain is severe or has changed, see a doctor to check for an underlying cause.

Paracetamol eases pain and fever but has little effect on inflammation. Mefenamic acid is an NSAID that also reduces inflammation, but it has more stomach and kidney side effects. Ask your pharmacist which suits you.

Doctors sometimes prescribe them together for heavy, painful periods, as they work in different ways. Take them together only if your doctor advises.
