What it is used for

Levosalbutamol tablets and syrup are used to relieve wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness caused by narrowed airways (bronchospasm). This can happen in asthma, chronic bronchitis and COPD, and with some chest infections. The oral forms are mainly used when an inhaler is not suitable, for example in some young children.

How it works

Levosalbutamol is the active form of salbutamol. It relaxes the muscles around the airways so they open up and air can move in and out of the lungs more easily.
