Stroke risk check
This package checks the blood and urine for common risk factors that raise the chance of a stroke. It covers fasting blood sugar, a cholesterol breakdown (total, LDL, HDL and triglycerides), kidney function with creatinine and eGFR, body salts, the liver enzyme SGPT, CRP for inflammation, a blood count and a urine examination. It cannot show whether you have had a stroke or predict one exactly, but it helps your doctor find and manage risks early.

How to prepare

- Pick an early morning slot so the collector can take your blood while you are fasting. They draw a small sample from a vein in your arm, which takes a few minutes, and collect the urine container you have filled. You can eat straight after the blood has been taken.

What the results can mean
High sugar, high LDL cholesterol or triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol and reduced kidney function all add to the risk of stroke and heart disease, and a raised CRP can reflect inflammation.
