What it is used for

Levofloxacin eye drops are used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis, which can cause a red, sticky eye with yellow or green discharge. A stronger form is used by eye specialists to treat bacterial infections of the clear front part of the eye (corneal ulcers). The drops do not treat viral or allergic red eyes.

How it works

Levofloxacin blocks enzymes that bacteria need to copy their DNA, so the bacteria cannot multiply and are killed.
