What it is used for

Bromfenac eye drops are used to treat inflammation and reduce eye pain after cataract surgery. They are usually started around the time of the operation and used for a limited period set by the eye surgeon.

How it works

Bromfenac blocks enzymes called cyclo-oxygenases in the eye tissues. This lowers the production of prostaglandins, the chemicals that cause swelling, redness and pain after surgery.
