What this package is for

Basic health check-up

This package is an entry-level health check covering the blood, sugar, cholesterol, liver, kidneys and urine. It includes a complete blood count, fasting blood sugar, a lipid profile, SGPT (ALT) for the liver, serum creatinine and electrolytes for the kidneys and body salts, and a routine urine examination. It suits adults who want a first general check or a yearly review of common health risks.

Who this package is for

  • You have not had a health check for a while and want a simple starting point
  • You have a family history of diabetes, high cholesterol or kidney disease
  • You lead a busy, inactive lifestyle and want to check for silent problems
  • Your doctor suggested a basic regular check to follow your health over time

How to prepare

Fasting: Needed for Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): have the sample taken before breakfast, and follow the instructions you get when you book.

This package includes a fasting blood sugar, which is normally measured before breakfast, so check the preparation shown on this page and any instructions you receive when booking. Plain water is fine at any time. Keep taking your usual medicines unless your doctor says otherwise, and collect the first urine of the morning in the container provided.

At home

Sample
Blood and urine samples
How it works
The collector visits your home, takes a small blood sample from a vein in your arm and collects your urine sample in the clean container provided. The blood draw takes a few minutes and covers all the blood tests in the package. An early morning slot usually works well.
Report
The same day.

What the results can mean

Each part of the report points to a different area: the blood count to anaemia or infection, the sugar test to diabetes, the lipid profile to heart risk, SGPT to liver strain, and creatinine and electrolytes to kidney function and fluid balance. A single result outside the range is common and does not always mean illness. Your doctor will interpret the results together and advise on any follow-up tests or lifestyle changes.

What's included

Questions people ask

How often should I have an essential health check?

There is no single rule. Many healthy adults have a check every year or two, and people with diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease usually need tests more often. Your doctor can advise what suits you.

What is SGPT and why is it tested?

SGPT, also called ALT, is an enzyme found mainly in liver cells. It rises when the liver is inflamed or damaged, for example by fatty liver, hepatitis, alcohol or some medicines.

Why are electrolytes included?

Electrolytes such as sodium and potassium keep nerves, muscles and the heart working normally. They can be thrown off by kidney problems, diarrhoea, vomiting or some blood pressure medicines.

Does a normal check-up mean I am completely healthy?

It is reassuring, but a blood and urine check cannot find every problem. Keep up with blood pressure checks, and see a doctor about any new or ongoing symptoms even if your results were normal.

How much does a Essential health check package cost in Dhaka?

With Mukti Health the price is ৳2,410, and the sample is collected at your home in Dhaka. You see the price again before you confirm the booking in the Mukti Health app.

Can I do the Essential health check package at home in Dhaka?

Yes. Book it in the Mukti Health app and a trained sample collector comes to your home in Dhaka to take the blood and urine samples. You do not need to go to a laboratory.

How long does the Essential health check report take?

The report is usually ready the same day the sample is collected.
